Summer Reading: Rising No Ceilings Grades 6 & 7

No Ceilings English 6 (total of 4 books):

• Wonder by R. J. Palacio
• The Call of the Wild by Jack London
• One book from this list.
• One book of choice. 

If students have a book they would prefer to read that is not on the list, they need to have permission from their English teacher.

No Ceilings English 7 (total of 4 books):

• The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton
• A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park
• If you have already read The Outsiders and/or A Long Walk to Water for No Ceilings class, choose replacement titles from this list.
• One book from this list.
• One book of choice.

Students should complete a Work Comprehension Assessment for each work they read. Students should also complete the outline assignment provided. During the first weeks of school, there will be graded assignments on the required reading. On the first day of school, students should bring their Work Comprehension Assessment forms, their outline assignment, and their copies of the two required books for their grade.
